Dear Book Lovers,

It’s time for Green Ribbon Books’ first annual fundraising book sale.  In the past we have held many book sales for other charities and nonprofits, and now we are raising money to continue our programs.  Even though the bookstore is closed, we are continuing to work on projects to help the cause of literacy in Western Montana.  These programs cost money, and with your help, we will be able to raise enough funds to continue for another year.

At Green Ribbon Books, we believe in our mission of promoting lifelong literacy and the love of reading for all by finding good homes for good used books.  Great books should not end up in the landfill, and no one should be denied the right to read based on income.

Research shows that having an in-home library can positively influence students’ academic performance, and that providing books to low-income students can alleviate the so-called “achievement gap” between the rich and poor.  But given the reality of life in western Montana, books may take a back seat to other necessities such as food, rent, and utilities.

Green Ribbon Books is dedicated to ensuring that, regardless of income, book ownership can be a reality for everyone.  Our programs concentrate on getting books into the hands of people who want them.  Please help us to continue our programs by visiting our upcoming book sale.  Thank you for your support.  We miss our customers and hope to see many of you at the sale.

The Team at Green Ribbon Books

Green Ribbon Books is now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.  We will be pursuing many new projects to benefit the people of western Montana.  We began with a love of books and a desire to contribute to the community.  By partnering with other nonprofits, we help them raise funds through online and local book sales.  We sell online through Amazon and will host annual book sales.

We also donate over 100,000 books a year to organizations and individuals in need.  Please contact us if you would like to help with our efforts or know of an organization that needs books.
