How You Can Help

Green Ribbon Books is making it easy for book-loving Billings residents to give. Donating your already-read books is a creative and green way to support Montana charities. Here's how it works:

Clean out your overcrowded library or attic

Then...

Bring your boxes in to Green Ribbon Books' conveniently located Billings headquarters

or...

Use one of our partners' drop sites

or...

Call (406) 855-6721 to schedule a pickup

For individuals' drop-offs and pick-ups, Green Ribbon Books will write a check to a local charity of your choice, even if they are not one of our partners.

Books donated through our partner organizations benefit our partners.

What Happens To The Books You Donate?

Every book we receive is sorted to find the best home for it. Some will be donated to literacy programs, Operation Paperback (for US Military), the Montana Women’s Prison, and other organizations. Monthly charity book sales will be held to benefit causes such as the relief effort in Haiti, The American Cancer Society, and other worthy causes. These sales will also benefit members of the Billings community, as the prices will be kept low in order for everyone to be able to purchase books. Some of the books will be sold online to support our fundraising efforts.

Green Ribbon books is committed to finding homes for as many books as possible, while helping to support local and national charitable organizations.

We are unable to accept encyclopedias, catalogs, newspapers, magazines, or books that are in extremely bad condition. The better condition your books are in, the more you will be able to help out your charity.

It’s our goal to make sure that no book ever goes to waste.
